At Stack'd, we source and supply preloved apparel to retailers, wholesalers, vintage stores and professional resellers worldwide.
Our grading system helps buyers understand the expected quality, physical condition and resale suitability of wholesale merchandise before placing an order.
As our products are primarily pre-owned, reasonable variations in fabric condition, appearance, colour, sizing and previous wear are normal.
All merchandise is classified according to its disclosed grade and the product specifications agreed in the accepted quotation.
Grade A — Excellent Condition
Grade A includes preloved merchandise in excellent or near-new condition with minimal visible wear.
Expected characteristics:
- Clean and well-maintained overall appearance.
- Little or no noticeable signs of previous use.
- No significant holes, tears or permanent stains.
- No major structural damage.
- Minor surface marks that can reasonably be removed through ordinary cleaning.
- Generally suitable for resale without major repair.
Grade A does not mean that merchandise is brand-new or unused.
Grade B — Moderate Wear
Grade B includes commercially usable preloved merchandise showing moderate signs of wear.
Expected characteristics:
- Noticeable but reasonable fabric wear or fading.
- Minor stains, discolouration or marks.
- Small holes or tears, generally less than 1 cm.
- Missing buttons or minor fastening defects.
- Minor stitching or seam defects.
- Limited repairs or cleaning required before resale.
- Small non-removable stains that do not substantially affect the item's usability.
Grade B merchandise is not guaranteed to have the same appearance or resale readiness as Grade A.
Grade C — Heavy Wear / Repair Stock
Grade C includes merchandise with substantial signs of wear, damage or deterioration.
Expected characteristics:
- Larger stains, holes or tears.
- Significant fading or discolouration.
- Damaged zippers, buttons or seams.
- Heavy fabric wear.
- Cosmetic or structural defects requiring attention.
- Items that may require repair, alteration or restoration.
Grade C stock is generally intended for discounted resale, repair, recycling or upcycling.
Immediate wearability or resale readiness is not guaranteed unless specifically stated.
Mixed-Grade Wholesale Lots
Stack'd may supply wholesale lots containing more than one quality grade.
The following compositions are proposed standard categories:
| Grade category | Composition |
|---|---|
| Grade A/B | 70% A and 30% B |
| Grade B/C | 60% B and 40% C |
| Grade A/B/C | 30% A, 40% B and 30% C |
These are standard examples, not guaranteed compositions for every lot.
The actual applicable composition must be confirmed in the product listing, quotation or order confirmation.
Where a specific mixed-grade composition has been agreed, that specification takes precedence.
Grading Tolerance
Due to the nature of preloved wholesale merchandise and the involvement of human assessment, minor grading variations may occur.
Where expressly included in the accepted order, a grading tolerance of up to 10% of the total item count may apply.
- The tolerance permits limited variation from the agreed grade composition.
- It does not authorise substitution of materially different product categories.
- It does not excuse undisclosed prohibited or counterfeit merchandise.
- It does not override express written guarantees.
- Weight-based lots may require a different measurement method specified in the quotation.
Any exceptional tolerance must be disclosed before order confirmation.
Category-Specific Grading
Certain categories, including vintage denim, distressed clothing and workwear, may have intentional wear characteristics.
These may include faded fabric, distressed finishes or tears larger than those ordinarily accepted for the same grade.
Such characteristics must be consistent with the agreed product description.
Quality Inspection and Verification
Stock may undergo physical verification before Stack'd confirms fulfilment.
Verification may include:
- Product grade and general appearance.
- Quantity or weight.
- Fabric and material condition.
- Visible damage and defects.
- Category consistency.
- Packaging suitability.
Items that materially differ from the agreed specification may be removed, reclassified, replaced or referred for further review before dispatch.
Where verification materially changes the original offer, the buyer will be informed and the revised terms will require acceptance.
Product Photographs
Stack'd may use two categories of images.
Exact Images: Photographs depicting merchandise from the specific stock being offered.
Representative Images: Images illustrating the anticipated category, style or grade.
Representative images are for reference and do not guarantee identical products, brands, colours, sizes or designs.
Specific product characteristics become binding only where expressly included in the accepted quotation.
Brands and Authenticity
Wholesale lots may include branded, unbranded or mixed-brand merchandise.
Specific brands or brand percentages are not guaranteed unless confirmed in writing.
Stack'd does not knowingly supply counterfeit products.
Where brand authenticity is specifically guaranteed in an accepted order, that guarantee remains part of the agreed product specification.
Third-party trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Size and Colour Variations
Preloved sizing may differ by manufacturer, country, period and garment style.
Labelled sizes may not match modern measurements.
Assorted lots may contain variations in colour, design, material and individual garment proportions.
Cleaning and Preparation
Unless explicitly stated, merchandise should not be assumed to have undergone commercial washing, steaming, dry cleaning, restoration or retail preparation.
Buyers are responsible for any preparation necessary for their intended resale channel, except where a particular preparation service was expressly agreed.
Resale Expectations
Product grades describe physical condition rather than financial performance.
Stack'd does not guarantee:
- Retail selling prices.
- Profit margins.
- Customer demand.
- Resale speed.
- Sell-through rates.
- Particular brand assortments unless agreed.
Grading Claims
Buyers must inspect merchandise promptly after confirmed delivery.
Any claim concerning grading, quality or material condition must be submitted within 48 hours of confirmed delivery.
Claims must identify the affected products and include supporting photographs, videos and relevant quantities.
Claims are assessed against the accepted quotation, agreed grade composition and any expressly applicable tolerance.
Claims submitted after 48 hours may be declined to the extent permitted by applicable law.
